About April

I joined the Joseph Chris Team in 2023. Over the last 5 years I've had numerous experiences that prepared me for working at JCP, but none more so than being a small business owner. Since 2017, my husband and I have owned & operated a food truck in the Humble / Atascocita area. In June 2018 we purchased a retired school bus from Splendora ISD and spent the next year turning it into our food bus!

Having to research all the regulations, develop the construction plans, and participate in the actual construction (including repainting) was a challenge I welcomed and thankfully conquered. The bus, having been completed in June 2019, still had fresh paint when the pandemic hit in early 2020; forcing us to change the way we did business for almost a year. Thankfully after that year the market started to open back up and we were considered a success story. Now more than 3 years after that we are still going strong and looking for ways to grow the business. All of these experiences along with my years in the construction industry have prepared me to work at JCP.

Some of the special skills I bring to JCP include years of accounting experience, as well as having worked in the construction industry in many different roles for more than 20 years. I also bring with me a personal understanding of small business. If I only had three words to describe myself I'd use intuitive, empathetic, and analytical. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration from WGU Texas in 2015. In my free time I enjoy baking & cooking, gardening, bike rides with my guys, and playing with my three dogs. I also love camping and have a bit of a crafty streak, having been known to sew, crochet, knit, make jewelry, and all sorts of other things.
