About David
Being raised by a Marine, I am driven to accomplish missions. When people call me with problems, I see it as my mission to solve them. I also enjoy building trusted relationships and sharing information to help people make decisions that impact their business and careers.
I worked quite a bit in the industry that we service: real estate development, construction, and finance. When CEO Veronica Ramirez approached me about joining the team, it seemed like a natural marriage between my relationship-building skills and my background. I’m happy to say I am glad to have made the jump.
Before going into recruiting, my experience includes President and COO of a Texas based, private equity firm. Our focus was on opportunistic investments in real estate, and oil & gas. We acquired land, developed masterplan communities, and built homes. We also developed drilled, and operated oil and gas wells. I was involved is all aspects from capital management, project acquisitions, capital management, budgeting and planning, talent and team coordination, interaction with high-net-worth investors and commercial bankers.
I have also worked in supply for companies such as CBRE, Hines, Cousins-Parkway, JLL, and Trammel Crow.
I grew up in New Jersey and became an experienced sailor while crewing for my dad. I have been lucky enough to have raced internationally including transatlantic competition. When I moved to Central Texas, I missed sailing, so I founded the Belton Lake Boat Club and its sailboat racing fleet. I also taught martial arts and have a black belt, so I can protect my sailboat passengers from marauding pirates (or just get some good cardio in).
Other pastimes have included cycling, motorcycling and recreational flying. My dog, Einstein, is a certified Service Dog, and he’s, my buddy. He works with my 95-year-old mother every day. She is blind and he provides her with comfort and protection, she provides him with love.
I have volunteered on MIT’s Enterprise Forums’ ‘New Venture Clinic’ team helping start-up businesses at the Houston Technology Center and of course taking Einstein to various assisted living facilities to share some love and cuteness with the residences.
